Child Programs

One&Only Cape Town extends a gracious welcome to families with excellent accommodation, an abundance of enriching activities and a dedicated, fully-supervised KidsOnly programme for children ages four to eleven years that explores the exuberant personality of Cape Town.

Children aged four and under are welcome to participate in KidsOnly activities with the supervision of an adult or babysitter. There is a separate programme of activities geared to the interests and activity levels of older children aged 12 to 17.

Enriching themed activities
KidsOnly activities are centred on themed days – safari, ocean, green-wise environment, birds and bugs – that draw upon the unique cultural and geographical attributes of Cape Town and the continent. Children will participate in educational puppet shows, storytelling of local folk and San tales, stage dramas depicting Africa’s wild animals, sing-a-longs of Mama Makeba’s Children Songs, instrumental play of local music, culinary experiences with the Chef and more.

Art and action
Arts and crafts activities include jewelery making, ostrich egg painting, stencil and collage, card and mobile making – all with a focus on South Africa’s dynamic culture. KidsOnly excursions

For the Teens
Experienced staff provides personal service and organises activities throughout the resort for teenagers aged 13 to 17 years.

In addition to the ever-popular Wii, Xbox and Play Station games offered at the Club, teens will exercise their energies with active supervised excursions to nearby City Rock, offering a Cool Runnings toboggan on steel tracks, sandboarding on dunes, indoor karting and rock climbing, ice skating and bowling. Big screen movies are enjoyed at the V&A Waterfront.

Meetings and Events

The resort offers a beautifully appointed Ballroom measuring 215m² with 63m² of outdoor space, easily accommodating 120 guests for a sit down dinner or 200 for cocktails. The space can be divided into two separate rooms for a more intimate setting. Adjacent to the Ballroom is The Marina Room, accommodating 20 guests boardroom style or up to 40 guests for a banquet of cinema screening. A second boardroom seating up to 12 guests is also available in the Business Centre Boardroom.

Isola restaurant and the island pool terrace are available for special outdoor events in the evenings and can accommodate 60 guests banquet style or up to 80 guests for a cocktail reception.

Nobu

With the opening of his Nobu at One&Only Cape Town, world-class master chef Nobuyuki ‘Nobu’ Matsuhisa expands his eponymous empire with the debut of his first restaurant in Africa.

No stranger to worldly culinary influences, Nobu gives classical Japanese cuisine a contemporary twist. Diners can indulge in fresh South African seafood and indigenous spices in mesmerising dishes such as Yellowtail Sashimi with Jalapeno or the Suntory Whisky Cappuccino.

Nobu Lounge, on the restaurant’s upper level, features a selection of Sakes including plum wines, Japanese beer and a creative selection of Sake- and Shochu-based cocktails.

Reuben’s

One&Only Cape Town is thrilled to be home to Reuben Riffel’s first urban restaurant, showcasing a menu that is deceptively simple with its wholesome bistro fare, fresh flavours, generous portions and beautifully plated dishes. Reuben’s has a sophisticated, yet relaxed, brasserie ambience and the food provides the exciting combination of local flavours that one would expect from one of South Africa’s most loved chefs, Reuben Riffel.

Riffel rose to fame when his first restaurant, Reuben’s, opened to much acclaim in the historical town of Franschhoek in 2004. It has since won the coveted Eat Out ‘Restaurant of the Year’ and ‘Chef of the Year’ awards.

Reuben’s appeals to the culinary side of the soul and will be enjoyed by both young and old alike.

Situated in the centre of the lobby, within the very heart of the resort, is Vista Bar & Lounge. As its name suggests, incredible panoramic views of Table Mountain are enjoyed through a floor-to-ceiling wall of glass. A magnificent tri-level wall of glass and steel commands the entrance to the impressive Wine Loft. The moment guests step inside, the complex aromas combined with the depth of flavours take you on a tantalising journey of the Cape Winelands.

When creating the list, emphasis was placed on terroir and regional styles. One&Only Cape Town features one of the most balanced and diverse wine collections on the continent with over 5,000 bottles and up to 500 references.

Oenophiles can delight in prestigious vintages as well as discover up-and-coming South African boutique wines. The mezzanine tasting room offers an exceptional introduction to the region’s vineyards, including rare South African wines such as Warwick Trilogy, Meerlust Rubicon and Kanonkop Paul Sauer. The cellar also offers rare and sought after vintages from producers such as Meerlust, Vergelegen, Kanonkop, Warwick, Thelema and Eben Sadies Columella and Palladius.
