The Woolloomooloo Wharf is the most prominent historic finger wharf in Sydney. With construction commencing in 1911 by the Sydney Maritime Trust, the Wharf is now a ‘destination’ within itself. Originally constructed as a wool and cargo handling facility the Wharf was nearly demolished and then, once saved by the protesters was listed under permanent conservation in the Australian Heritage Act, in 1988.
