El Palace Hotel has been totally refurbished and opened again in late 2009.The works have preserved the classic spirit that has always characterised this property, distinguished as a symbol of Barcelona’s hotel tradition.

Set in the heart of the city centre, close to Las Ramblas and in the most prestigious shopping area, it is surrounded by boulevards, theatres and main banks. It has an excellent transport connections and it is just 20 min from el Prat Airport.

After the restoration, the Hotel will open 125 new rooms, 42 of which will be suites and junior suites, all equipped with last-generation technology. A new room design, a soft interior re-decoration of public areas and lounges and the realignment and optimisation of the architectural infrastructure will enhance the beauty and majesty of our Hotel like in the 20’s.

The Caelis Restaurant, awarded with a Michelin Star is part of El Palace with a full offer of top-class cuisine, Clients will also enjoying our AE Restaurant located at the Hall of the hotel and the emblematic bar Rien de Rien.

El Palace has launched the Mayan Luxury Spa and a Fitness Room, a unique spa with a Temazcal Sauna, exclusive in Spain.

The Garden

Our CLASSIC DELUXE rooms are all exterior with abundant natural light, completely soundproof and some of them overlooking the Gran Via, one of the major commercial arteries in the city.

Spacious rooms, 38 m2 (422 square feet), fully renovated and furnished in classic style, very comfortable, equipped with an elegant decorative fireplace which dates from 1919.

King-size 2x2m bed or 2 twin 1x2m beds at customer’s choice. Junior Suite Coco-Mat

Our Junior Suite 619 offers a unique innovation in sleep systems incorporating the signature bed mattress Pyrros from COCOMAT.

Pyrros mattress offers the perfect elasticity, suitable for any type of person and weight. With a base made of solid pine boards, 4 inches thick and a height of 14 centimeters and an ergo-base on which the rest of the bed mattress is built. Unique techniques and materials have been used: beech wood slats, 6 cm high and 1 cm thick, cylinders of natural rubber, elastic coconut fiber and seaweed. All materials supplied for the manufacture of this system are natural, completely recyclable and from sustainable resources.
The COCO-MAT Junior Suites is a very peaceful room overlooking one of the typical courtyards of Barcelona’s Eixample.

Very spacious room, 52 sq2 (560 square feet), fully renovated and furnished in classic style, very comfortable, offering sleeping and living in one room and independent dressing room.

Our five elegant suites have been renovated to ensure the most extraordinary stay in a homely atmosphere and luxurious comfort, all of which have views of the Gran Via, bright and totally soundproofed.

Salvador Dalí Suite

In the Dali Suite, Jaime Beriestain for Gaston y Daniela, has taken the concept used in the halls of the Hotel to get the atmosphere of refinement expected from a place with the history and prestige of The Palace.

150m2 suite, one or two bedrooms and spacious Roman bath 50m2 room, furnished in classic style. Master bedroom with 2x2m canopy bed and twin room with two beds of 1×2 m.

Lovingly restored antiques, desks and chairs in the nineteenth, nineteenth cabinet also the “chinnoisserie” special fabrics made from old Italian damask patterns XVII handmade rugs in India, Italian and French mirrors nineteenth and early XX, along with silver objects belonging to the historical collection of the Hotel, make a luxurious and comfortable space that evokes the great establishments of all time.

Awarded with a Michelin star and the European Catering Cup in 2011 for his extraordinary work at Caelis, Romain Fornell can now be found in all the gastronomic offerings of El Palace: the AE brasserie and all banquets held at El Palace.

Caelis Restaurant

Awarded with a Michelin Star, Caelis Restaurant brings even greater renown to Barcelona’s culinary traditions and to Hotel El Palace’s reputation as one of the city’s long standing institutions.
Romain Fornell, Caelis’ Chef, was the youngest French Chef awarded with a Michelin star in 2001 and remained the unique French chef awarded with a Star in France and in Spain.

The work of Romain Fornell is based on the creative principles or signature cuisine. A Mediterranean representative of haute cuisine, he creates dreamlike experiences with each one of his dishes.

AE Restaurant

The perfect place for a mid-week meal or for grabbing a quick bite in a pleasant setting.

Its fast menu caters to demanding palates while offering dynamic and suggestive Mediterranean specialities.

Located in the heart of the hotel, AE is open every day from 11am to 11pm in the lower Hall, and is decorated in the style of a typical Parisian brasserie. Romain Fornell offers guests an international approach to cuisine, where they can taste and enjoy the flavours of dishes made all the more interesting and complex thanks to inspiration acquired in the course of his travels around the world.

The Brunch

Served in El Jardín every Sunday from April to OCtober, the Brunch at El Palace is a famous event where you can enjoy the excellent cuisine of Romain Fornell in an oasis of calm in the centre of Barcelona.

We offer you a wonderful Brunch, as well as one specially designed for kids, who will enjoy games and activities while being looked after by professionals.

Bar Rien de Rien

Bar Hall

Next to the main Hall, this new spot is the perfect place for an informal chat while you enjoy your favourite drink.

The Garden
