The Nelligan Hotel is a boutique style hotel concept with 64 comfortable rooms in a contemporary decor set in traditional Old Montreal architecture. Stone and brick walls set the tone for most of the rooms, which are furnished in a sober yet modern fashion, while maintaining a classic feel.
The design of Hotel Nelligan is collaboration between Camdi International and CDID Design. The fireplaces in many rooms, the dark wood furniture and custom warm linens create an atmosphere of comfort, unlike anywhere else. The spacious washrooms are both well equipped and practical. On the walls, passages of Emile Nelligan’s most beautiful poems are transcribed, immersing guests in this beautiful Quebec poetry.
The Hotel Nelligan in its entirety conveys the elegance and warmth of Old Montreal. The entrance hall consists of four distinct areas, each open and leading into the other. Check in at the Reception and let the Concierge assist you with reservations or planning your time in Montreal. Enjoy a cup of coffee by the fireplace and library, while taking in the view of the garden-atrium and spectacular water fountain. Breakfast is served in this area, which doubles as a tearoom in the afternoon. Order an aperitif or cocktail at the bar-salon decorated with hints of leather, rattan and warm woodwork. Nestled in the 19th century building housing the Hôtel Nelligan, Verses Restaurant has already become one of Old Montreal’s hippest new restaurants. With a contemporary French cuisine assembling Quebec’s finest meats and freshest produce, the menu is composed of such specialties as marinated duck breast, Quebec lamb done three ways, and rack of deer.
Large windows open onto Saint-Paul Street allowing the natural light to flow into the dining room, which is furnished with curved red banquettes and dark wood chairs. The stone and brick walls are complemented by long flowing curtains, dark wood paneling, large 10-foot mirrors, and an impressive glass wine cellar. With its Old Montreal charm and modern décor, Verses Restaurant is the perfect setting to enjoy outstanding cuisine, morning, noon and night.
Terrace Nelligan
Overlooking the Saint-Lawrence river, Montreal’s Old Port and the Notre-Dame Basilica, the Nelligan Terrace will take your breath away. Lay back and enjoy a coffee or drink during the day or try our chef’s light summer menu. Later on in the evening, enjoy your favorite cut of meat or the catch of the day, when our chef lights up the grill on the roof.
