Gastronomy & Bar

Unique dining experiences are the hallmarks of our two exclusive restaurants. Rue d’Or features classically inspired French bistro cuisine and ambience with a contemporary twist. At La Veduta, discerning diners can savor the innovative delights of a Northern Italian grill. The grand St. Regis Bar offers an artful, luxurious destination with a view for sophisticated cocktails and small plates.

The St. Regis Terrace

The St. Regis Terrace and Zen garden is located next to the St. Regis Bar. In fair weather, it is an excellent spot for afternoon tea, cocktails and light snacks from the bar menu.

Cuisine: Light Fare

Rue d’Or

Located on the ground floor along Hommachi-Dori Street, Rue d’Or’s terrace is the the perfect spot for a weekend rendezvous with café au lait and a croissant under an umbrella in the morning sun. Inside, the first level is a casual dining space with an open kitchen behind a curved marble bar accented with oversized cranberry red lampshades. Bentwood armchairs, white linen tablecloths, and beveled mirrors create a welcoming, easy-going setting. At lunch, it’s a favored destination for a country-style paté or house-made white sausages and perfectly paired French wines.

An upper floor, revealed behind a glittering curtain of metal chains, is reached by a hidden staircase behind a wall engraved with French culinary terms. Framed “windows” in the wall reveal guests going up and down the stairs. In this romantic upper level, the scene is elegant and intimate, complete with rich colors and textures, plush seating, tassels and etched mirrors. This is the place to indulge at the wine and cheese bar and enjoy the ambiance of the wine cellar, which is embellished with a golden rope motif.

One of Rue d’OR’s signature dishes is onion soup with cheese souffle, incorporating Awaji island onions, famous for their sweetness. Rather than topping the soup with toasted French bread with melted cheese, the chef adds an airy cheese souffle. Guests may also enjoy one of the bistro’s several tasting menus, such as vegetable terrine with ravigote sauce; scallop tartar flavored with Yuzu citron; 63degree Japanese brand “Yamatonikudori” chicken with curry sauce; “Chef’s specialty”: Braised Beef cheek; and Grilled Japanese fillet of beef with sauce Sharon and French fries, and of course, les patisseries.

Rue d’Or serves lunch, afternoon tea and dinner daily, breakfast on weekends only.

The St. Regis Bar

Through grand walnut doors opening from the hotel’s 12th floor lobby, The St. Regis Bar welcomes guests to an enchanting environment, unmatched in all of Osaka.

Discover sweeping city views and a quiet Zen garden terrace as you relax and enjoy handcrafted cocktails in a setting of deep turquoise paneled walls, a precious blue tiger’s eye bar, tall mirrors, and a deep corniced silver ceiling. Candlelight, rich leather seating, and a grand piano add to the bar’s allure. Overall, the décor was designed to reflect the Momoyama era of Japan, a period of hope, prosperity and harmony and a time when Japan opened up trade from the east to the west.

Japanese-influenced details include tsuba-inspired (tsuba are Japanase sword handles) door handles and lacquered display cabinets with sleeping Samurai display boxes that light up when opened to reveal glowing bottles. In time-honored St. Regis tradition a specially commissioned mural provides the backdrop to the bar. Hidden details of Osaka castle, satellites, and mystical animals appear as guests study the painting.

All over the world, each St. Regis Hotel creates a signature Bloody Mary—a fresh cocktail that reflects the hotel’s setting. In Osaka, it is the Shogun Mary. A blend of unique Japanese flavors and seasonings, including yuzu, wasabi and soy sauce with fine vodka. The bar also offers a menu of small plates, including items such as an international cheese selection and a Sicilian salad with celery and citrus fruits.

Enjoy the timeless ritual of afternoon tea in The St Regis Bar. Each day, guests are invited to experience a menu of delectable tea sandwiches, soufflés, pastries, and fresh fruits with exceptional blends by legendary French tea purveyors, Dammann Frères.

La Veduta

La Veduta is an all-day and evening destination for exquisite foods prepared in the best culinary traditions of Northern Italy.

Sumptuous décor and original artwork set against a rich chocolate brown and soft beige palette give La Veduta the feeling of modern Italy layered with classic design. By day, natural sunlight filters through sheer drapes, giving the space a feeling of an Italian palazzo with a gleaming wood floor. By night, the mood turns romantic, with soft ambient light from stylish chandeliers. Located on the 12th floor, the restaurant also offers sweeping views of Osaka.

From lavish buffets to multi-course dinners, chef Nakahigashi Toshifumi offers a menu of “La Tradizione”, “Aromi”, “Mare” and “Terra” for lunch as a starting point of his Italian sojourn and invites guests to continue the journey with a choice of four “Degustazione” and a full á la carte menu for dinner. At lunch, enjoy dishes such as roasted pigeon with polenta and fontina cheese and a soft croquette with black pepper. Among numerous other choices, dinner may include linguine with clams, mullet roe and pearl onions, or a rich carnaroli risotto with pumpkin and gorgonzola cheese sauce.

Each day, guests may also enjoy a “grigliata del giorno”, composed of the finest selections of perfectly grilled meat, poultry or fish, all hearth-roasted to bring out the best of their natural flavors. All of the restaurant’s ingredients are sourced from the best producers, giving each dish the integrity of flavor guests would expect from the Italian countryside. The restaurant’s signature focaccia with cinta senese and bufala features the famed heirloom pork salumi from Tuscany and creamy, fresh buffalo mozzarella.

Our sommelier has selected a wide variety of wines, from Italy and the other great wine regions of the world to accompany each menu.
