Pool

Two infinite horizon swimming pools overlooking the sea: one outdoor(10×15 m) and one indoor heated pool with swimming against the current (5×10 m). Depth: small pool 1m40; large pool 2m50. Possibility of booking private swimming and aquagym lessons for you or your children with a State-licensed lifeguard.

Beach

A fine sand beach, naturally protected, nestling in a secluded creek giving it a very private character, reserved exclusively for the hotel’s guests. Mattresses, towels, beach bags and parasols are available. Our beach attendant will be happy to install them for you.

Health and Fitness

Personalised health and fitness programs with a State licensed gym coach.

Tennis

A private tennis court with lighting. Possibility of private lessons. Loan of racquets and balls. In summer, it is preferable to reserve the court in advance to enjoy the cool of the evening.

– the fun of a jet ski trip and speed boating, piloting machines which combine power and safety with a monitor-guide (you don’t need a licence)….That is the best way to come close to the jagged coastline, discover its secrets and make the most unexpected encounters with wild animals while bathing in a hidden creek at the foot of a Genovese watchtower… fixed rates for one or two hours, full or half day.

– all your favourite watersports directly from the hotel beach or close by depending on availability and the season, in collaboration with our regular partners: windsurfing, sailing, sea kayak, water skiing, parasailing, tow tubing, snorkelling, scuba diving in season etc…

– making a superb change from the seaside atmosphere: mountain escapades to explore the breathtaking views along the hidden paths of Le Maquis in high-end 4-wheel drives (Hummer, Toyota …) or in Ranger Polaris with guide.
Breakaway rambles starting from the hotel is complete safety on tracks between the sea and the mountain, through the Laricio pine, chestnut, eucalyptus and cork oak forests. Explore the exceptional heritage of fauna and flora and depending on the season, taste the chestnuts, arbutus berry, blackberries, wild strawberries, wild asparagus, sea urchins…and swim in the river or the sea!
On your coffee or drinks breaks there will be ethno-botanical commentaries with Corsican legends and stories. Possibility of lunch at a typical mountain inn, in a beachfront hut, in a private waterfront estate along a deserted beach with Corsican barbecue, or a picnic which will be prepared for you according to your preferences.

Driving the Ranger Polaris is simple and reassuring like driving an automatic 4-wheel drive, between the quad and the Mini Moke. Its size and weight allow it to venture where ordinary 4-wheel drives cannot pass.

– but also car, motorcycle, scooter and bicycle hire, helicopter transfers and excursions from the hotel, a multitude of tourist itineraries and site tours with or without guides and interpreters, with your vehicle or with chauffeur…

Our meeting room is connecting with our Business Centre that can act as a meeting room (8 pers. meeting layout around one table). Area: 322 sq ft; 16 x 20 ft dimensions.

Equipment included in the meeting room rental: direct dial telephone, overhead projector, mobile projection screen, paperboard, white boards, plasma screen, video recorder, CD/DVD player, markers, writing equipment. Free state-of-the-art Wi-Fi on the meeting room and the Business Center equipped with a computer and a printer. Any other audio-visual material on demand with supplement.

Our professional team is entirely at your disposal to offer you a personalized meeting room layout and optionally to decorate it as needed (tailored floral decorations for example). Free luggage services, easy check-in, welcome gift in-room on request, personalized menus printing, room service, reception and concierge 24 hours a day, safe, fax and photocopy, netbooks (laptop computers) on request.

For your seminars, our sleeping capacity is between 10 and 27 rooms, including 6 suites and luxury apartments, for a maximum of 54 persons.
The rooms can all be taken as single, double (king size) or twin bed rooms.

Regardless of category all the rooms are different and each one has its own individual decoration in an identical style. They are graced with old furniture, wooden shutters and exposed beams, and offer an international level of comfort, from the first room category with view over the garden up to the panoramic suite.

Some on the beach-level, others upstairs, all have modern bathrooms and almost all are equipped with terrace or private balcony to take full advantage of the breathtaking garden or sea views.

The complete privatization of the resort is feasible (hotel and restaurant) according to the period of the year and the length of stay. Everything or almost is then possible…

Standard Room

Comfort, delicacy and elegance are combined in the 15 classic rooms, distributed over five levels including one at beach level. Nearly all the rooms have a terrace or private balcony with a sea or garden view to make the most of a moment of relaxation outdoors, for sunbathing or a romantic candlelit dinner.

At Le Maquis, all the rooms are different whatever their category and each one has an individual decor in a Mediterranean style, with Pierre Frey fabrics, antique furniture, wooden shutters, and wooden beams offering an international level of comfort. They are all equipped with high quality Loewe 32″ flat screens and a choice of king-size (2m x 2m) or twin beds. Naturally they all have a fully equipped modern bathroom, a whirlpool bath in some rooms and a sea view.

For families, some rooms are connecting with rooms of the same category, superior rooms or junior suites. Some rooms can take an additional cot or bed for child or adult.

Three different room categories for more choice to suit your whim:

Three Classic rooms with garden view and terrace (32 m² approx. with terrace):
our first room category with view of the gardens or the surrounding hills, in some rooms with a partial view of the sea. These delightful rooms have the same level of comfort and facilities as the other categories. No extra beds are possible.

Three Classic rooms with sea view without terrace (32 m² approx.):
two of them are communicating, including one with mezzanine bathroom. The third is communicating with a room with sea view and terrace.

Nine Classic rooms with sea view and terrace (38 m² approx. with terrace):
from the terrace or the private balcony, in some cases covered, all guests can enjoy an unobstructed view of the sea, the beach or the outdoor swimming pool. They all have different internal layout and the sea view is different from each room. With the magical changes of the seasons, each window opens onto a unique panorama.

In an effort to satisfy everyone’s unforeseen needs in a very confidential way, we provide very handy “travelling rooms” also known as “mail rooms” which are designed to help out for a few hours if you arrive too early or wish to prolong your stay awhile. They are also excellent for the little ones or their nurse as somewhere more suited to their ages…

Superior Room

3 Superior Rooms Sea view with Terrace (approximately 45 m² including terrace):
Comfort and originality are the hallmarks of the superior rooms which are spread over four of the hotel’s five levels including one at beach level.

All have a terrace or private balcony to make the most of the sun by the sea, a sunny breakfast or a romantic candlelit dinner.

These rooms, which have all been recently refurbished, are more spacious than the classic rooms and have a fully equipped modern bathroom, most of them with whirlpool bath and separate shower.

For families with children, each superior room has a different sleeping capacity in terms of additional beds, so we recommend that you get in touch directly with our Reservation Service who will inform you of the best possibilities to try to suit your needs exactly.

Junior Suites and Apartments

2 Junior Suites Jacuzzi® Sea View and Garden with Terrace (approximately 68 m² including the terrace):
they offer a large space and has private terrace with a view over the gardens and a partial view of the sea. With a dining area, a Loewe 32′ or 47″ flat screen, CD-DVD player, extra adult bed, cot possible (up to 2 years). Bathroom with a view over the gardens and whirlpool bath.

2 Apartments Jacuzzi ® Sea View with Terrace (approximately 68 m² including the terrace):
One is called “The Waves”, and the other “The Islands”, both are separated from the beach by a spacious terrace bounded by a low stone wall. Each apartment is composed of a bedroom and a sitting room which if needed can be transformed into a spare bedroom (with sofa bed only). The apartments are equipped with two Loewe 42″ and 47″ flat screens, a CD-DVD player, a bathroom with whirlpool bath and a shower room, as well as two separate toilets.
A large terrace communicating with both rooms offers a stunning view over a magical panorama at sea level, between the blue of the sea and the jagged outline of the Sanguinary Islands.
Maximum occupancy per apartment is 4 adults and one baby.

Deluxe Suites

Two Deluxe suites with Jacuzzi® Sea view and Terrace (74 m² approx. with terrace):

Each one of these magnificent spacious junior suites consists of a bedroom and a living room with sofa bed, two Loewe 42″ and 47″ flat screens, a CD-DVD player, a bathroom with whirlpool bath and a very wide terrace overlooking the hotel’s beach, ideally located facing the sea to savour, why not, the supreme luxury of a relaxing massage …

Additional bedding: either a cot (up to 2 years) and a sofa bed for one person, or a single sofa bed for an adult and a child under 10.

One of the two suites communicates with the only other room in this part of the building (classic room with sea view and terrace; capacity for one additional adult bed). Taking them together makes it possible to privatise the whole floor and include the landing which serves the suite and the room making a total area of some 110 m².

Penthouse Suite

A Penthouse Suite with Jacuzzi® Sea view and Panoramic Terrace (90 m² approx. with terrace):

Named Horizon I and wonderfully situated on the top floor, the hotel’s main suite has charm and appeal. It offers a spectacular 360° panorama over the sea and the surrounding hills and provides the most refined comfort.
Particularly spacious, the main part is composed of a living room with Loewe 42″ and 47″ flat screens, CD-DVD player, a sitting room for 6 persons and a communicating bedroom, all laid out as one in the form of a penthouse.

In a Mediterranean style with whitewashed walls and wooden beams, it is very tastefully decorated and furnished with antique furniture. The bathroom has a whirlpool bath, a jet shower and separate toilets.
This eyrie for lovers is redolent of the timeless atmosphere of a luxury private villa.

Reached from the bedroom and the sitting room, a very wide 23 m² panoramic terrace looks out over the hotel creek, ideal for sunbathing in complete privacy or a romantic candlelight dinner after having admired the sunset over the Gulf of Ajaccio with a glass of champagne.

As the suite also connects with the only other room on the floor (superior category with sea view and terrace), it can be hired as a Master Suite with one or two rooms (the whole floor: 140 m²).

Taking them together makes it possible to shut off the whole floor with private access by lift and add the landing which serves the suite and the room to the total area.

The bathroom of the connecting room has a bathtub from which you can enjoy a magical view of the sea, as well as a shower and separate toilets.

One single entrance for the suite. No additional bedding is possible.

L’Arbousier Restaurant

At Le Maquis, good things do not come singly and our home could not be yours without its restaurant, the Arbousier, which offers you the ideal setting to enjoy Mediterranean cuisine with a Corsican touch, with seafood and seasonal flavours.

From autumn to spring, its refined cuisine is served beneath the hundred-year-old beams of a warm dining room with its soft intimate ambiance, and when the warm weather arrives the restaurant moves on to its large terrace by the swimming pool.

The cool of its shade contrasts with the sweet torpor of the beach which it overlooks and gives the feeling of overflowing into the sea, looking out over the vast blue expanse of the gulf, with the Sanguinary Islands standing sentinel on the horizon.

For a calm breakfast, a relaxing lunch or a romantic dinner lulled by the lapping of the waves, it would seem here is where hospitality was born in a place where tranquility, soft breezes and waking dreams meet.

In the delightful setting you can watch the delicate ballet of our head waiters who have been orchestrating the most personalised and friendly service for nearly 33 years.

They will help you discover a sun-drenched gastronomy where fish and Corsican specialties naturally play a starring role, served by a young and dynamic team in an ambiance of elegance and relaxation.

At lunchtime, the terrace offers a restful haven to sunbathers in beach wraps and sailors on stopover in the shade of the parasols for a relaxed lunch. The grill menu should satisfy every appetite with suggestions full of freshness and lightness.

Then comes that magic moment when the terrace puts on its evening wear while the sun plunges into the sea with brio and the blue gives way to pink then to a flaming red sunset. Imagine savouring a glass of champagne as you watch this display before a romantic candlelite dinner. Lulled by the sound of the waves nearby, every evening the tables are lit by a thousand and one lamps like so many sparks of happiness to accompany the profusion of fragrances and happy conversations which rise towards the stars…

Dress code
We suggest that you dress informally during the day and dress up in the evening to go to the bar and restaurant. Jacket and tie are not required for dinner, but gentlemen are asked to wear long pants. We thank you in advance for your comprehension and elegance.

Children’s meals
We offer a wide choice of menus catering specially for children which can be served from 6:15 pm in your room to be ordered before 3 pm for the dinner that same day. We are also at your service for heating babies’ bottles and ready meals.

Bar and Terrace

Bar, salons and fireplace: a distinguished setting, a warm atmosphere and the feeling of being at home…a place to sit by the fire any time of the day and enjoy our selection of teas, a glass of champagne or a cocktail with some friends… The ideal place to start endless conversations!

Yet everyone agrees that the finest place at Le Maquis is the magnificent terrace overlooking the hotel’s own inlet. Here the blue hues of sea, pool and sky give way to brilliant reds and pinks when the sun dips beneath the horizon. A perfect place for breakfast, an evening drink softened by the music of the waves…
