Cooking Class

Park Hyatt Seoul invites you to its monthly cooking class at Cornerstone. Led by the hotel’s Italian executive chef, Stefano Di Salvo, the class will offer guests the exciting experience of becoming professional chefs themselves.

Showcasing different themes each month, ranging from dishes using seasonal ingredients, pastas, pastries, healthy juices/smoothies to brunch and Christmas party menus, Chef Stefano will present his special cooking tips and techniques. Followed by the step-by-step recipes and demonstrations of each dish, a tasting session will be offered. Reservations must be made in advance as the class is limited to 10 people.

Whisky Class

Offering authentic Japanese cuisine and premium beverages complemented by live performances, The Timber House invites you to its first single malt whisky class. Led by ambassadors professionally trained at distilleries in Scotland, the course showcases a different whisky each class, including The Glenlivet, The Balvenie, Lagavulin and many more. A variety of information will be taught ranging from the origin of the whisky and its classification to the distilleries and the minerals contained in water.

Participants can also enjoy the differing taste of each whisky which will vary by age, size, types of iced used, amount of water added, and seasonal snacks in canapé style are also served. In addition, the ambassador recommends matching cigars, with detailed explanations on types of cigars, ways to select based on personal preferences, structure of the cigar, how to cut and light the cigars, tips for preserving them and more. Two miniature bottles of the whisky are presented as a special gift (KRW 50,000 value) and a 20% discount is offered when purchasing a full bottle within one month from the date of the whisky class. The class is limited to six people and additional classes may be arranged depending on the reservations status.

The Lounge absorbs the weather and natural illumination, changing dramatically by the minute, alongside the beautiful scenery created by car lights lined up on Youngdong-daero, a forest of sleekly designed buildings on Taehaeran-ro, trade tower, COEX mall, Bongeunsa Temple, as well as the urban stream of Tancheon and Daemo Mountain stretched out on the other direction. The reception desk on the top floor, tables for couples to sit and see COEX view together, and an indoor infinity swimming pool seen through the glass wall make The Lounge an ideal setting for relaxing and romantic ambience.

The Lounge serves an extensive selection of beverages, including premium coffees, teas, healthy juices / smoothies, cocktails and wine by the glass, alongside á la carte and set menus for Korean and Western dishes. The Lounge chefs are constantly working to develop creative and exquisite menus each year, such as ‘Korean Afternoon Tea’ featuring Korean tea and assorted traditional sweets served in a beautiful Korean wooden box, home-made ‘Bingsu’ that uses a base of milk ice flakes and fresh organic fruits, rice cakes, red beans and more, ‘Bibimbab Collection’ served on a flat dish with an artistic arrangement of ingredients. The Timber House

Located on the lower level floor, The Timber House is a restaurant and bar that brings out the essence of the Far East and a modernism. With the design concept based on an old hanok (which is a traditional Korean house built of wood), The Timber House provides a distinctive cultural space, displaying a gallery-like setting. Eastern-style interiors accentuated by Korean roof tiles, patterned sliding doors, a wall made of books stacked in layers, and a glass wall decorated with old furniture locks, and modern interiors highlighted by three-sided large mirrors in the centre and elegant lightings, together complete a cosy yet sophisticated atmosphere.

The Timber house is divided into three thematic parts, with aspects of the house represented in each section: Sushi / sake / soju Bar, Cocktail Bar and Whisky Bar. Sushi/sake/soju Bar offers fresh sushi and sashimi complemented by boutique Japanese sakes and Korean sojus, Cocktail Bar offers The Timber House’s signature cocktails created by award-winning bartenders, and Whiskey Bar offers the widest selection of unique whiskeys, including single malts and other rare whiskeys from around world.
