Imperial Suite

Mirrors set in Baroque frames magnify the sumptuous atmosphere of the once private chambers of the prince of Wurttemberg. The suites, which boast ceilings of up to seven metres in height, measure 70-95 square metres offering guests truly imperial-sized accommodations. The impressive salons provide exclusive and intimate surroundings for meetings or cocktails with a personal butler to attend to your guests. More than one couple has glided in three-quarter time over the antique parquet floors to waltz rhythms. And reclining on the stylish chaise longue in another Imperial Suite, you can admire precious oil paintings and antique furniture. Like the state rooms of all historic palaces, the Imperial Suites were located on the lower floors to spare the guests of bygone days the inconvenience of climbing several flights of stairs. But even though today an elevator whisks you effortlessly to your suite, ascending the princely staircase makes a fitting overture to entering your own imperial quarters.

Gastronomy & Bar

Restaurant Imperial

The Restaurant Imperial at Vienna´s luxury Hotel Imperial, is the ideal spot for a truly refined, yet relaxed, Viennese dining experience. Elegant wood-paneled walls wrap the room and provide the backdrop for portraits of Austrian royalty like Emperor Franz Joseph and his wife Sisi. Exquisitely laid tables are intimate, but spaciously arranged to ensure diners’ privacy. Richly colored carpets harmonize with similarly toned chairs upholstered in contrasting, complementary patterns. Candlelight and wall sconces illuminate the room with a muted, golden glow.

Service under the watchful eye of Maître d’ Christ is equally impressive. Christ has been with the Hotel Imperial for 32 years and his “youngest” staff member is a 16-year veteran. Formerly known as Restaurant zur Majestät, the restaurant continues to serve select meat and fish dishes the traditional way-directly at the table. Along with its new name, the restaurant has changed its formerly formal service to a more relaxed style without compromising quality.

While select classic dishes like Wiener Schnitzel are always on offer, our Chef Rupert Schnait creates a different five-course gourmet dinner every week, combining traditional Viennese cuisine with international ingredients. The results are exceptional creations that tempt the palate. Fine desserts made with a dash of Vienna’s most exquisite sweet wines are a harmonious finale to an incredible meal.

For fine wine aficionados, head sommelier Manfred Legl is always on hand with recommendations ranging from renowned Austrian vintners to those of Burgundy, Bordeaux, and other parts of the world. Thanks to its gourmet food and excellent service, Restaurant Imperial was, once again, is toque-awarded by Gault Millau.
