Established in 1876 by Eduard Sacher, son of the creator of the famous Original Sacher-Torte, the privately owned 5-star hotel is a synonym for luxury and high class service.

The hotel is situated in the pulsative cultural heart of Vienna – directly opposite the state opera, next to the Albertina gallery and moments away from the most impressing sights of the city.

The newly renovated historical banqueting rooms, in which 100 persons can meet, captivate with a symbiosis of classic and contemporary interior design.

Following extensive renovation work the Anna Sacher restaurant is now radiant in bright green pleasantly offset by black furniture with golden highlights. Its restaurant Rote Bar with live background piano music, winter garden and direct view to the state opera, became the living room of the auteurs of the Viennese culture scene.

To escape the imposant city impressions of the day, the luxurious Sacher SPA offers beauty treatments and products by Ligne St. Barth and La Prairie. A “Time to Chocolate” treatment is the secret recipe for the “savoir vivre” lifestyle.

The Hotel Sacher has always attached great importance to a balance of tradition and innovation. During 2011 we have completely refurbished the traditional hotel rooms. The focus was put on a sensible combination of classical interior design combined with innovative technology. The main emphasis was on the refurbishment of spacious and luxurious bathrooms. The French interior designer Pierre-Yves Rochon had been commissioned again to implement this scheme in the inimitable Sacher style.

The rooms in these categories are about 30 to 40 square metres in size (approx. 322 to 430 square feet) and offer all the amenities of a 5-star luxury hotel.

All the rooms have been meticulously decorated with elaborate antiques and original paintings of renowned artists. The bathrooms are light and friendly.

These rooms range between 40 to 45 square metres in size (approx. 430 to 484 square feet), offering top-of-the-range luxury and comfort.

In accordance with the tradition of our hotel, all the room interiors are individually fitted with luxurious furniture and art work. Have a seat in our inviting seating areas and enjoy the typical Sacher flair.

Junior Suite and Deluxe Junior Suite

Much space and marble bath rooms

The Junior Suites are among the most popular in our hotel. They are between 50 to 70 square metres in size (approx. 538 to 750 square feet) and are especially elegant.

A Junior Suite combines living room and bedroom, which can be optically separated from one another.

All suites are finished with exclusive wall-covering; some of the suites have wooden parquet floors. Luxurious marble bathrooms with under-floor heating, separate showers and bath-tub complement to the elegant interior of these rooms. Many of our regular guests have a favourite Junior Suite!

The Deluxe Junior Suites offer wonderful views to the Albertina and the Opera House.

Executive Suite

The new Executive Suites encompass the very generous room size of 50 to 70 square metres (approx. 538 to 750 square feet) and a particularly elegant decoration.

The new Executive Suites are a highly demanded category at the Hotel Sacher and benefit from a separate living- and sleeping room.

The Executive Suite is fitted with the highest standard, offering all amenities and comfort to match our guests’ highest demands.

Marble bathrooms are equipped with double sinks, separate showers and bath-tubs. All Executive Suites provide an amazing few to the Opera House or to the Albertina Gallery.

One-Bedroom Suite

The One-Bedroom Suites are between 80 square metres and 90 square metres in size (approx. 861 to 968 square feet).

They consist of one elegant bedroom and a stylish parlour. They are all individually furnished with valuable antiques, original oil paintings and art work.

Two-Bedroom Suite

This is one of the most luxurious ways to reside in the Sacher! The Two-Bedroom Suites are between 80 and 110 square metres in size (approx. 861 to 1,184 square feet).

The luxurious suites consist of two bedrooms, a salon and bright marble bathrooms. The bathrooms are equipped with finest marble and under-floor heating. Also, we offer separate showers and bath-tubs.

Each of the suites has a unique style and offers a spectacular view of Vienna (onto the Opera House, Kärntner Strasse or Albertina Gallery)

Presidential Suite “Madame Butterfly”

The Madame Butterfly Presidential Suite offers five elaborate and luxurious rooms in a generous space of 160 square metres (approx. 1,722 square feet).

This suite features a large anteroom, a drawing-room, a dining and a conference room (for up to 10 people), a generous bedroom, dressing-room, office, a luxurious art-deco bathroom equipped with under-floor heating, a bath-tub for two, a separate shower and bidet as well as a separate guest toilet.

The Zauberflöte Presidential Suite

It encompasses 165 square metres (approx. 1,776 square feet). This includes two bedrooms and a living room, both offering a fantastic view onto Kärntner Straße and the Opera House. It also has three marble baths, both with a separate shower and toilet. Because of its warm colours and exquisite antiques, the Zauberflöte Suite is a favourite among artists and politicians.

It’s no wonder that this elegant and stylish luxury restaurant, awarded with one toque from the Gourmet Guide Gault Millau, is the ultimate meeting place for lovers of opera, with its ideal culinary appendage to a cultural evening.

Enjoy traditional Austrian and Viennese specialities, in addition to our regular menu; there is a daily menu with seasonal culinary delights. In summer, the foldaway windows of the conservatory transform the “Rote Bar” into a large open terrace.

The wine cellar boasts a comprehensive international wine assortment. In harmony with the Viennese cuisine, however, the Hotel Sacher has, above all, a wide variety of Austrian wines – particularly from the wine-growing areas of Vienna and the surrounding region.

Restaurant “Anna Sacher”

Viennese art of cooking

The with 2 toques awarded “Anna Sacher” restaurant is as captivating as the exceptionally colourful character from whom they take their name – the legendary grande dame Anna Sacher.

Following extensive renovation work the Anna Sacher restaurant is now radiant in bright green pleasantly offset by black furniture with golden highlights. This interior design merely serves to underscore the splendour of the paintings by Anton Faistauer hanging in the restaurant and the priceless Lobmeyr crystal chandeliers.

This interior contrasts starkly with the straight, unpretentious line taken by Sacher’s chef de cuisine Werner Pichlmaier in his contemporary, light interpretation of traditional Austrian cuisine. It goes without saying that he uses high-quality regional products for all his basic ingredients.

The guest’s culinary experience at the Anna Sacher restaurant is rounded out by a superb selection of Austrian and international wines. Whereas a 2-, 3- or 4-course business lunch is served at midday, restaurant guests can choose the “Anna Sacher” menu or dine à la carte in the evening.

In autumn 2010 the restaurant “Anna Sacher” has been awarded by the Gourmet Guide Gault Millau with 2 toques for its excellent cuisine!

Open Tuesday to Sunday from midday to 3:00 pm and also from 6:00 pm to midnight (meals can be ordered until 11:30 pm). Monday closed.

During holidays no business lunch is served at the restaurant “Anna Sacher”.

Café Sacher Wien

Viennese coffee culture

Experience the typical Viennese coffee-house atmosphere at Café Sacher Wien and treat yourself to an Original Sacher-Torte and an Original Sacher Café speciality. The Café Sacher at the Hotel Sacher is a glamorous meeting point for tourists and lovers of Austrian sweets alike.

Apart from the Original Sacher-Torte, the Café Sacher also offers a large variety of Austrian pastries and other typically Austrian dishes. Our guests also very much enjoy the conservatory, which faces the Opera. In summer, the foldaway windows of the conservatory transform the café into a large open terrace which together with the open terrace “Schanigarten” offers ample room for guests.

Sacher Stube at the Hotel Sacher Wien

Also in the Philharmonikerstraße, with its view onto the Vienna State Opera, beside the Café Sacher Wien is the “Sacher Stube” with its typical Austrian flair. As a complement to the specialities of the house, there are also the dishes “Sacher-Tafelspitzsulz” (boiled cuts of beef in aspic), “Altwiener Zwiebelrostbraten” (onion roast cutlet of beef) or “Wiener Gulasch mit Gebäck” (goulash with homemade rolls).

In the summer months, you can also take the opportunity to enjoy the tradition of the “Wiener Schanigärten” (traditional coffee house terrace) by having the dish “Sacher Schmankerl“ (general sweet dish) on the terrace.

Sacher Eck

Snacks and Austrian sweets

The “Sacher Eck´” in the Hotel Sacher Wien on the corner Kärntner Straße/Philharmonikerstraße was opened in April 2003. This elegant bar impresses with its modern architecture and is a popular meeting place in the evening and during lunch break.

Here you can treat yourself to small Sacher snacks, a large variety of Austrian sweets and of course, the Original Sacher-Torte.

The doors of the adjacent “Schanigarten” (terrace) in the Philharmonikerstraße are open during good weather so that guests are able to enjoy the unrestricted view onto the Opera House. During the warm summer days we provide a generous terrace in the pedestrian zone of the Kärntner Straße.

The drinks list includes coffee, tea and drinking-chocolate specialties as well as a well-endowed assortment of 35 Austrian wines, available by the glass or by the bottle.

Sacher Confiserie

Fine Viennese chocolate cake

From the Hotel Sacher in Wien, the Original Sacher-Torte started its victorious career around the globe. It was this cake that made the Sacher famous well beyond its borders.

The Original Sacher-Torte with apricot jam is made to this day according to a well-kept, secret original recipe from 1832. It is still made by hand in the in-house Sacher bakery.

Next to the Sacher Eck´ is the Sacher Confiserie. Here you can buy the Original Sacher-Torte and other Sacher specialties or have them sent to friends and families all over the world.
