Health and Beauty

Soaking up the warm rays of the setting sun over the sea, a cocktail in hand, is all the activity some visitors desire. Swimmers can choose between our covered heated swimming pool with its divine views over the sea and the Odescalchi castle, or our private beach, where the Tyrrhenian becomes your own private pool.

Our extensive gardens offer many tranquil corners for exploration or a spot of quiet reading. We can also arrange more vigorous pursuits, including tennis, horse-riding and golf. Guests are welcome to borrow a bicycle and take to the paths that run along the coast. We also arrange boat and dinghy rides to nearby coastal spots, or guided tours of the many intriguing and beautiful Etruscan ruins in the vicinity.

Our meeting room is dedicated to business sessions, and includes the latest state-of-the-art equipment technology, high-speed Internet connectivity, both cable and wireless, audio-visual technology, back-lit projector, microphones and sound system, video conferencing. Beautifully located in one of our towers, the room has natural light and can accommodate up to 70 people.

On the ground floor the villa has three charming rooms (the fireplace Room, the Vanvitelli Room and the Getty Studio Room) which may become a perfect setting for meetings from 5 to 70 people, with different combinations that can suit any type of special event.

The spacious interior and exterior spaces offer a unique site for conventions, product launches, conferences, fashion shows, exhibitions, award ceremonies. From the time of booking, our staff will work together with you to meet your needs and guide you through each step to ensure your event is a success and one your guests will remember over time. The park surrounding the Villa can be equipped with one or more gazebos for outdoor activities or special needs.

La Posta Vecchia can offer 19 rooms and suites with either sea or garden views. Accommodations on the first floor are decorated with Renaissance-style furniture and arts, while those located on the second floor are contemporary in style and offer breathtaking views from the towers of the house.

From our Master Suites to our Superior doubles, every bedroom is uniquely decorated and urnished with museum-class art and antiques. Master Suites, Senior Suites and Junior Suites have sea views or overlook our lovingly maintained gardens. Our tower rooms have impressive vantage points and can also accommodate families.

Master Suite

Getty Suite

This is the largest suite in the hotel and was J.P. Getty’s private wing when he resided in the Villa. It boasts 16th and 17th century furniture, an oak-wood ceiling, King-size bed, an over 200 sq. foot white marble bathroom and a wall of windows overlooking the sea. The sitting room has a floor-to-ceiling maple-wood 17th century wardrobe writing desk with a complimentary laptop and Wi-Fi access.

Medici Suite

It is said that Mr. Getty’s companion resided in this suite. The sitting room includes a hand-decorated fireplace and a bookcase displaying a rare collection of Meissen plates.

The Spanish 17th century King-size bed and pink marble tub embraced by two marble stairways highlight the
outstanding luxury which is the hallmark of the Villa.

Senior Suite

Castello Suite

The view of Odescalchi Castle gives the name to this Senior Suite which also overlooks the sea, where fisherman can be spotted diving for squid during the summer months. There is a precious collection
of 18th century prints illustrating Roman castles lining one wall; the hand-carved green marble tub and sink in the bathroom are truly unique examples of Italian 19th century craftsmanship.

Red Suite

This Suite has an enchanting view over the lush Italian Garden welcoming the guests at the front of the mansion.

From the Red Suite windows, you have the feeling of dominating the entire property. The Red Suite derives its name
from the main colour of the room furniture. It features two bath rooms: one is completely covered in mirrors and
blatantly represents J. Paul Getty’s flair in home décor.

Junior Suite

Three are the junior suites, located in the first floor and in the villa’s towers, they can be also reached by lift.

They are warm and inviting to experience a memorable stay, with their outstanding views of the sea from mediaeval-style windows and wood-beamed ceilings that add character and charm with the exclusive furniture made by 17th century Italian antiques. Each bathroom has a large bathtub.

Superior Deluxe with Sea View

The senior suites are three luxury rooms, elegant and spacious. They have the view of the nearest castle and the sea where fisherman can be spotted diving for squid during the summer months. The interiors are a result of a precious collection of 18th century and in one of the bathrooms, the hand-carved green marble tub and sink are truly unique examples of Italian 19th century craftsmanship. A sequence of mirrors in the other room let you live the atmosphere of the past, a revival of Getty’s taste.

Superior Deluxe

These six superior deluxe rooms are located on the ground floor and on the first floor,
overlooking the Italian garden. Furnished in Renaissance style with antiques, their bathrooms have travertine, marble or ceramic tiled showers or bathtubs. Exclusively for double use, their dimension is 290-410 sq. ft.

Double Standard

Cozy and warm in their style, these luxury standard rooms are located on the second floor, not directly reachable by lift. Either with garden or sea views, these rooms are furnished in a contemporary style, warm and inviting, with ceramic tiled bathrooms -showers or tub. 320-430 sq ft is their size.

One of these rooms can be adjoining with a superior deluxe creating a small apartment with two bedrooms and two bathrooms, the perfect solution for families or couples travelling together.

Gastronomy & Bar

The Cesar Restaurant

La Posta Vecchia’s elegant dining room, much sought-after terrace tables and refined regional cuisine are no longer a secret. Since chef Michele Gioia earned The Cesar a 1 star Michelin, the restaurant has been attracting an increasing number of diners who drive out from Rome or hop off their cruise ships at Civitavecchia for lunch or dinner.
